Xinha doesn't work anymore in firefox 1.5

Reported by: marcel@… Owned by: gogo
Priority: highest Milestone: 2.0
Component: Xinha Core Version: trunk
Severity: major Keywords:

Description

The deeppark version of firefox has somehow broken the xinha htmlarea.

The html area does work without xinha (I think that xinha fails to load the plugins, wich the standard htmlarea doesn't use.)

There is already some discussion about this bug:

Firefox v1.5 is still in beta and probably there shouldnt be taken to much concideration for this until the final release is out, since this could change for all I know. Reading through the comments already made regarding the problem you can skip down to this part where some sollutions are offered:

I ran into this very problem this morning. I was testing deerpark, and noticed that all of our copies of xinha didn't work properly. I did notice that there was a slew of CSS related errors in the javascript console, as well as errors loading all of the plugins. I didn't try loading xinha without any plugins, but that would have been a good idea.

This persists in 1.5b2 too :(

Changing the == 0 to >=0 got me running xinha in dp1. (see the bugzilla link)

I am also getting errors, but not about the plugins.

Error: Error in parsing value for property 'height'. Declaration dropped.

And lots of them.

I think this has to with the changing of the height, wich doesn't work.

I hope there will be a bugfix release of the htmlarea.js soon.

Well, there's been the 1.5 RC1 release of firefox, so it looks like a patch is needed. Here's a patch which makes the editor appear, and which ought to be robust with respect to gratuitous whitespace being inserted or removed from function.toString().

Just to confirm to others: Xinha does not load in Firefox 1.5 (official release).

Actually, the latest nightly build does work in the official Firefox 1.5 release, sorry about the previous comment.
