support Xhtml strict

Description

Hello,

I think it is a good Idea to integrate a switch to support Xhtml strict.
As Example: If you want to define a Link, no Target-Attribute is allowed in Xhtml strict. So it will be very good that you can't choose "Target" from the Hyperlink-Dialog if you switch the Editor in Xhtml strict Mode.
Maybe the best way is, to integrate the switch in a Configuration-File, or htmlarea.js, so the user isn't able to change this.

Greetings

Peer

I see your point on wanting the editor operating in XHTML strict, but even if the menues and such are "modified" with this switch, what happends when a user starts pasting contents from other webpages and Word?

Sure I would be happy if Xinha would do this - but if it can't be done 100% there is really no use in trying, let others like xstandards have a strict editor which works flawlessly.

I hope you people working on Xinha rather spend time finishing the 1.0 release than starting to many projects for the editor, this ticket should be canceled in my opinion (atleast for now, maby in v1.1 instead or so)...

Cheers

see #95 and http://xinha.gogo.co.nz/punbb/viewtopic.php?id=98

it IS possible to hide the target (editor.config.makeLinkShowsTarget = false) - mut imho we can't create a xhtml-strict-setting that changes only a few things... if we would do so, xinha should really create valid xhtml! (which isn't the case as xinha uses browser-functions - and these browser-functions don't create clean html-code)

although you will get relatively clean code if you use the stylist-plugin to assign classes to your paragraphs (not setting the color/fontsize/etc)

  • Resolution set to wontfix

I agree, it's not feasible to get xhtml-strict code from Xinha. Closing WONTFIX.
